California Dreamin' - The Summer of Deej 2012

Summer is here, and that can only mean two things. First...the oppressive soul sucking heat will return to my home state of Florida. And second...it's time to travel. The last couple of years, the wife and I have opted for several small weekend trips spread over the summer months, but this time around we are taking a different approach. For the third time in five years, we are returning to the California, and this is sure to be one blowout trip...

Where We're Going

Before heading west, there will be a short stop in Atlanta, where for the second straight year the wife will take part - and I will expertly spectate - the Peachtree Road Race. As I've shared here many times, Atlanta is one of my favorite cities in the country, and I'm sure we'll squeeze in a stop at The Varsity before we board our flight for the west coast.

After my wife and the other lunatics survive the Road Race, we will hop on a plane to the City by the Bay...San Francisco. This will be our first time visiting this jewel of the Golden State, but as crazy as it sounds, it is still not even the 2nd most exciting destination on this trip...
San Francisco
Can anyone tell me where to find this spot?

Following a few days exploring San Francisco, we will hop in a convertible and drive to nearly every golfer's dream destination...Pebble Beach. Here I will fulfill #1 on my bucket list with a round on arguably the most famous golf course in the world. If no one hears from me after this part of the trip, please don't send a search party...
Pebble Beach
I might lose 47 golf balls, but I won't care...

Once I awake the walking coma Pebble Beach will put me under, we will hop back in the convertible and make our way up the Pacific Coast Highway, across the Golden Gate Bridge, and finally into Napa Valley.  A trip to California wine country has long been near the top of our list, combining it with two other amazing destinations seems just a bit surreal.
I doubt 4 days of this will get old...

What We're Doing

Here's where we could use some help. Our trip is less than 60 days away, yet our itinerary is a little sparse by my ultra-planning standards. Of course, in Pebble Beach I'm playing golf, while the wife will enjoy the seaside pool and make friends with the sea lions. In wine country we are taking the Napa Valley Wine Train and a bike tour through the vineyards, but beyond that our there's nothing else on the books...

So I'm opening the floor to the capable hands of you the reader. What should we see, eat, and do, to make what is already an incredible adventure even better?

60 days away and no plans? Someone should really check my temperature...
