While there is still over a month to go until our upcoming California adventure, I'm already looking at what trips lay further on the horizon. MJ suggested we go back to Las Vegas, but I'm not too keen on a second trip within less than a year. Earlier this month, I fell in love with the Florida panhandle, and would prefer to explore more of this uncharted area in our home state. Seems we are in need of this compromise thing I've heard so much about.
As it turns out, the best of both worlds can be found just a few more hours down the breathtakingly gorgeous Interstate 10. The Mississippi gulf coast combines the natural beauty of Florida's panhandle, with a little glitz and action at its famous casino resorts. I guess this compromise stuff was a little easier than I expected...
The current dilemma is which of these resorts shall we choose? Here are the contenders...
Hard Rock Casino
Surprise, surprise... Of
all the Mississippi gulf coast casinos, the Hard Rock finds itself at
the top of my list. I'm a Hard Rock junkie, and there's something about
that iconic logo that sucks me in. Plus, we had a great experience at
their property in Tampa, so it would be nice to scratch another off the
list.

Grand Biloxi
Part of the Caesars family of resorts, the selling point to the Grand Biloxi hit me the second I logged onto their website....the Jack Nicklaus designed golf course. Now we're talking about combining the best of three worlds. Of course, spending a weekend in one of their poolside cabanas wouldn't be so bad either.

Beau Rivage
The appeal to the Beau Rivage is its affiliation with MGM Resorts, and the ability to accrue M-Life points during our visit. I came up just short of earning my first "express comp" on our trip to Vegas, and I really want to get that free breakfast buffet. Or a green fee on the Tom Fazio golf course...I'm flexible.

It seems no matter which we choose, a trip to the Mississippi gulf coast will be a great adventure. The area has fought back after the double whammy of Katrina and the oil spill, and I'm excited to see all that this beautiful area has to offer.
Have you visited the Mississippi Gulf Coast?
