The New and Improved Picture of the Week

The other day I sought advice from my younger and wiser brother on ways that I could improve this little travel site, and here was his take...

"The Picture of the Week is stale. Make it more personal."

He was right. So with that in mind, I've decided to take a new direction with this weekly post that I hope you'll enjoy. Rather than sharing a random picture that you could have easily found on Google, each installment will instead carry a more personal story that goes beyond "Hey, check out this cool photo of the Golden Gate Bridge." The photos may not always be my own, but the stories will be 100% Deej. Please...try and contain your excitement.

Key West Episcopal Church

The best place to start this story, although not necessarily the most obvious one, is none other than Key West. What you probably don't know is I come from a long line of "Conchs" on my mom's side, and several generations of my family were married here in St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Oddly enough, St. Paul's is located right Duval Street - the epicenter of Key West's debauchery - and it's one of the most beautiful buildings in the Conch Republic. If you stop in hoping to wipe clean your sins from the night before, be sure to take a peek at the plaque on the front door which is dedicated to my great-great-great-something-or-another.

Enjoy Your Stay
