The Adventures of 2012 - A Year in Pictures

As 2012 draws to a close, it is time for me to renew my membership in the travel blogger community by churning out the obligatory "here's the awesome stuff I did this year" post. Truth be told, I completely unplugged last week for the first time in nearly three years and the brain has been a little slow to reboot now that I'm back online. Things will be back to normal around here in a couple days, but for now...

Here's the awesome stuff I did this year.

The journey begins...
I learned that "moderate" isn't a dirty word at Disney...
I also learned the "magic" still happens, when we were tapped for a free Wishes Cruise
We paid a visit to Gloria Estefan's Costa d'Este Resort in Vero Beach. The rhythm didn't get us, but this did...
Deej's Florida Swing visited 5 prominent golf resorts around the Sunshine State.
This was the highlight...
Welcome to Atlanta
MJ joined 60,000 other crazies in the Peachtree Road Race...
While I did this...
Welcome to the Golden State
We biked across the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito.
And the reward later that night was this...
We had a serious misadventure on the cable cars...
And toasted the City by the Bay from Top of the Mark
Never thought I'd see this...
Or this...
Or this....
Or that I'd hit the shot of my life here...
A day and a guy I'll never forget. My caddie, Big Tony
The incredible Point Lobos State Park
We stopped for cheeseburgers here...
Just passing through....
The Pigeon Point Lighthouse
The highlight of our drive up Highway 1, crossing the Golden Gate this time by car.
Welcome to Napa
The garden at The French Laundry
Having some fun on the Napa Valley Wine Train
MJ waving to her adoring fans.
Toasting at Cakebread on our 16 mile bike ride through the valley.
Anyone want to rob Caymus?
A final toast - or 6 - to Napa at Chateau Montelena.
I encountered some scary things on the golf course this year. Like this...
And this...
We rode out a tropical storm at an awesome hotel...
And paid a visit to our previously undiscovered capital.
I learned that St. Petersburg is wacky yet awesome at the same time.
And discovered some history I didn't know existed just a couple hours away on St. Simons Island.
And of course, there was also plenty of Disney.
While its not every day you scratch #1 on your bucket list, Pebble Beach still wasn't the best part of 2012.
This was....

No doubt about it, 2012 was one of the best yet. Of course, it is hard to find fault with any year that includes becoming an uncle and a visit to Pebble Beach. As always, most of it wouldn't be possible were it not for two people.... The incomparable MJ for being my biggest fan and for being so supportive of this 60 hour a week hobby. The other person that makes all of this possible is you. Extending a thank you in this annual post doesn't go far enough to show my gratitude for each and every time you visit The World of Deej. My New Year's resolution is to do a better job of showing that appreciation, but until then....

Enjoy Your Stay
