If you've ever had a child or relative in elementary school, then chances are you're familiar with Flat Stanley. He's a paper cut-out of a kid that's usually sent on vacation with a relative and is made to pose in pictures at various landmarks like Cinderella Castle or the Lincoln Memorial. As a group of blogger friends were preparing to leave for Toronto, I wished them farewell and joked that someone should create a Flat Deej for the trip. Within minutes, Flat Deej was born...
The next few days were pretty exciting for my cardstock twin. Aside from going to Canada, which the real me has yet to do, Flat Deej took his first plane ride...
Yeah...Flat Deej had to ride on the tray table. |
Checked-in to the Four Seasons Toronto...
Pretty sweet view at the Four Seasons. |
Hung out with a bunch of awesome travel bloggers...
Hey look! It's one half of The Lazy Travelers, The World Wanderer, Traveling Ted, and Where in the World is Lola! |
What's that? It's not the national dish? |
Had one too many with the Captain...
If you don't follow Captain & Clark, you really should... |
He hitched a ride to the Expedia Party...
Wait...what happened to his arm? |
Tried to hoist the Stanley Cup...
It was a little heavy... |
Had lunch atop the CN Tower...
Nevermind the view, check out the creme brulee... |
And tested his fear of heights on the catwalk...
Apparently Flat Deej doesn't understand signage... |
The only downside to being Flat Deej? You're an easy target for a few practical jokes...
A special shout out to Lauren at Where in the World is Lola for not only creating Flat Deej but giving him a ride to Toronto, and to the gang at the #RWTBEX Flipkey house for showing him a good time. And last but not least, to Erik at On My Feet or In My Mind for letting Flat Deej tag along to some of the best sites in the city.
Thankfully, Flat Deej didn't have a boa... |
It was the most fun I've - I mean, he's - had in a long time.
Enjoy Your Stay
